Why is music such a complicated issue for Artificial Intelligence (AI)? What can AI do in music generation, what musical problems were solved with recent AI? How did we make Hello World, the first album composed with AI? How AI can influence music made by artists? What are open problems in music for AI?

AI has been applied to virtually all domains of human activities in the recent years. Entertainment and music are no exception. However, music is a very special type of activity as it involves many facets of human cognition, including social aspects, which are still poorly understood.

Yet, François Pachet and his team have launched this year the first album of mainstream music composed with AI (Hello World) with success. François Pachet will describe the problems at stake, the solutions found, and how AI was used productively as a smart companion of various artists. François Pachet will also show why music fundamentally remains an elusive activity, and how the remarkable results achieved recently in AI enable us to address fascinating questions about our relation to art.

Afterwards, cocktails not made with AI while Emil de Waal + takes the stage. This special evening of Science & Cocktails offers a surprise duo specially curated for the event.

This event is organized with the generous support of KPMG Denmark.
